on death When I was young and therefore misbehaving, my parents would consistently tell me one story. Some variation about the brother or brothers I used to have but was too young to remember. My mother would scold me, "You had better stop acting up, or you'll end up like your brothers in the backyard." It was always when of those funny things to say. If you ask relatives, I always seemed rather callous about death. Death simply doesn't bother me, and I would suggest it has something to do with constantly being told, as a joke, that I had dead brothers

Keeping our goals in mind His family has left for the week on vacation. The dog looks back into the woods beyond the fence line. He sees the many miles between him and his family, and lays his head on his paw and frowns. He knows that some ancient part of him was comfortable in the woods, and he could make the journey of a month to find his family again, but he needs to maintain the house. Keeps things from ruining the life he'll have with his family when they return. He doesn't know how long they'll be gone, and has to constantly remind himself what he is protecting.
